Dr. Melanie Jackson grew up in Maplewood, Minnesota, an eastern suburb of Saint Paul and attended the University of Minnesota receiving a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences. Dr. Melanie then went on to Argosy University for an Applied Associate degree in Veterinary Technology, before finally returning to the University of Minnesota – College of Veterinary Medicine, where she obtained a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine.
Working with companion animals, as well as, large/farm animals, especially horses and small ruminants (goats, llamas, alpacas, etc.), is a passion of Dr. Melanie's. In her free time, Dr. Melanie enjoys spending time outdoors – hunting, hiking, gardening and riding her horse. When the weather turns cold, she spends time indoors reading, catching up on movies, and just hanging out with friends and family. She currently lives with her husband, their two calico cats and a paint gelding horse in Pella, Wisconsin.
