Albert Prudom, DVM Dr. Albert Prudom, our Chief of Staff, founded We Care Animal Hospital in 1995 with a passion for veterinary medicine and desire to help all different types of animals and people. He was raised in Upstate New York and currently resides in Clintonville. Dr. Prudom received both his undergraduate and DVM degrees from Texas A&M University. His special interests include equine medicine and surgery.

In his spare time, Dr. Prudom enjoys traveling, reading, camping, curling competitively and, of course, showing off all of his pets. He has nine horses, four dogs, six cats, and 20 chickens of his own.

Dr. Michelle Immel, DVM with dogDr. Michelle Immel grew up in Peoria, Illinois and currently resides in Greenville, Wisconsin. She earned an undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin Plattsville and later a DVM degree from St. George's University. Dr. Immel began working at We Care Animal Hospital in March of 2017. Her special interests include theriogenology and embryo transfer in ruminant species.

In her spare time, Dr. Immel enjoys playing tennis and softball, especially in the summer. She also likes traveling and hopes to visit every state within the United States by the time she retires. Dr. Immel has two cats and hopes to add a puppy to her family soon!

Dr. Dan Stark with Dog KandyDr. Dan Stark grew up in Carroll, Iowa and currently resides in Shawano, Wisconsin. He received both his undergraduate and DVM degrees from Iowa State University. Prior to joining our team, he was the owner of Sullivan Veterinary Service for over 38 years. His special interests include dairy cattle and goats. Dr. Stark's favorite part of We Care Animal Hospital is the special group of staff members he gets to work alongside every day.

In his down time, Dr. Stark enjoys traveling, hiking and fishing. He has a 12-year-old springer spaniel, Charlie and a two-year-old miniature schnauzer, Kandy.

Dr. Micaela Mertens, DVM with DogDr. Micaela Mertens grew up in Grinnell, Iowa and currently resides in Clintonville, Wisconsin. She received an undergraduate degree from Loras College in Dubrque, Iowa and earned her DVM degree from Iowa State University. Her special interests include small animal surgery, small ruminant internal medicine, reproduction, and experiencing a little bit of every species. She is excited to start her journey as a veterinarian at We Care Animal Hospital!

Outside of work, Dr. Mertens loves doing anything active, playing sports, especially team sports, and enjoys outdoor activities of kayaking, camping, and hiking. She considers herself a bit of a nerd as she loves completing puzzles, scrapbooking, and reading books. Dr. Mertens also has a lab named, Rizzo, who is never short on energy.
